Easl Young Investigators' Bursaries

EASL's aim is to support Young Investigators and help them attend the Annual Meeting.
In order to achieve the above, EASL offers 2 types of bursaries to the presenting authors only of the best accepted abstracts who are aged 35 or under and are still in training.

The application is available to anyone fulfilling the above criteria, without geographical restrictions!

FULL BURSARIES
120 bursaries of 700 European Euros each will be attributed to the presenting author of the best 120 scored abstracts. This bursary will be handed out by cheque during the Annual Meeting. In addition, the registration fees to the meeting will be waived.

REGISTRATION BURSARIES
Presenting authors of the remaining best accepted abstracts answering the same criteria as mentioned above, will have their registration fees waived.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

  • Bursary request is to be made on the abstract form during the abstract submission only, the name of the presenting author matching the name of the requester. Applications received after the abstract submission will not be considered.
  • Bursary requests without proof of age (clear copy of ID indicating date of birth) and proof of trainee status (either copy of student card or letter signed by head of department) sent to the EASL Liaison Bureau will not be considered.
DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF DOCUMENTS IS DECEMBER 12, 2004.
  • Confirmations will be sent out by January 31, 2005.
  • Confirmed beneficiaries will be automatically registered to the meeting (no payment of registration fees is required).
  • Name changes of presenting authors will be accepted until February 27, 2005. In the case of a bursary replacement, all above proof documents must be sent to the EASL Liaison Bureau together with the request.
EASL is willing to assist certain participants with an accepted paper, from resource-limited countries, who encounter financial difficulties to attend the Annual Meeting. Further details can be obtained by contacting the EASL Liaison Bureau, IN WRITING ONLY, after the abstract selection has been officially announced.

IMPORTANT NOTE: EASL will grant the above bursaries only to those presenting authors who will attest that they are not being sponsored or covered by any other source in order to attend the 40th Annual Meeting.
