Dear Colleagues,

The European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) will celebrate its 40th anniversary at the Annual Meeting in Paris, France, April 13 - 17, 2005. EASL 2005

We believe that the past 40 years have further restated the wide recognition of EASL as a leading Association of clinicians and scientists involved in the fight against liver diseases. We can be proud of the achievements of our Association and of the success of the Annual Meetings that continues to increase year after year in terms of both attendance and scientific excellence.

We would like to emphasize that the success of our next Annual Meeting in Paris lies in your enthusiasm, in your work and your willingness to share with all your fellow hepatologists your best and newest results. All this, together with State of the Art Lectures, Single Topic Symposia, Early Morning Workshops and a one day Postgraduate Course on a hot topic in Hepatology to satisfy all expectations, from the very basic to the more clinical ones, will once again prove to be a pleasant and rewarding scientific event, during which, all participants will have the opportunity to get together, discuss future plans and foster new exciting projects.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Paris, to celebrate with us 40 years of achievements.
